Reports

A billing is the total amount of billed amounts within a given period. Usage is the customary manner for measuring the use of a utility during a given period. Use the Billing and Usage Summary to review billed amounts and usages for customers.

Printing Billing and Usage Summary

1. Open Connect Utility Management > Reports > Billing Usage Summary.

2. Select a report definition.

3. Set up the report dates.

4. Set up the report options.

Summarize by service category

Include section headings

Services

5. Set up the Selection Criteria, Report Order, and Report Sections.

6. Click Print (CTRL+P).

The report prints.

Fiscal year-end period

The fiscal year-end period is the number assigned to the last period in the fiscal year. The fiscal year refers to the twelve consecutive months an organization uses to account for and report its business operations. For example, City ABC's fiscal year end is June and June is the sixth month in the year, so the Fiscal Year-end Period for City ABC is 6.

What is the last period in the fiscal year?

Use the Fiscal Year-end Period to enter the number assigned to the month. For example, 1 is January, 2 is February, 3 is Mar... and 6 is June.

Suppress customer types with no transactions
If a customer type is not linked to transactions, use this option to stop the customer type from printing on the Billing and Usage Summary. See how to use the features in the Billing and Usage Summary (2m56s)
Suppress rows with no transactions

Usage Summary may include transaction types that do not have any transactions or, in some cases, the organization does not use at all.

For example, the highlighted rows do not have transactions.

You can set up the report so the rows without transactions will not print on the report. Like this...

Summarize by service category

Note: This option is available when service categories are saved in Connect Utility Management > Organization > Service Categories.

 

A service category is a heading that you can create to organize service records by type, function, or accounting behavior. Use Summarize by Service Category to reduce the accounts by service category into a summary.

  • I want to print the billing and usage summary by service category. Click to select Summarize by Service Category.

  • I do not want to print the billing and usage summary by service category. Click to deselect Summarize by Service Category.

Include section headings
