Calculate Averages
Calculating averages in utility services typically involves determining the average consumption or usage of a particular utility (such as electricity, water, gas, etc.) over a specific period. This is often done to analyze trends, predict future usage, or estimate costs.
For example, in the case of electricity, the average consumption might be calculated by summing the total kilowatt-hours (kWh) used over a certain period (e.g., a month) and then dividing by the number of days in that period. This would give you the average daily consumption. Multiplying this by the number of days in a year can give you an estimate of the annual consumption.
Similarly, for water or gas, the process would involve summing the total usage in gallons or cubic feet, respectively, over a period and dividing by the number of days to get the average daily usage.
These averages can be useful for budgeting, resource planning, and evaluating efficiency measures.
