How do I add a taxing entity?
Create a new record to record a taxing entity.
A taxing entity is an organization that taxes individuals or organizations. Use Taxing Entity to set up a new taxing entity, edit an existing taxing entity, or remove a taxing entity.

Adding a taxing entity
1. Open Connect Property Tax Collection > Taxing Entities > Setup New Taxing Entity.

2. Click Save (CTRL+S).
The taxing entity is saved.

Add the taxing entity name, address, telephone numbers, and email address. The Meeting Information box is for information only. You can add when the taxing entity meets to the taxing entity record.

Add the rates the taxing entity
will use to calculate billing. You can set up multiple rates to address
the tax structure for the taxing entity. To add a new tax rate, click
Add a New Rate .

Period
Select a taxing period. If the taxing period is not included in the list, see How do I add a period?
Proposed rate
Enter the proposed tax rate for the taxing entity. The proposed tax rate is the tax rate that is being voted on.
Certified rate
Enter the certified tax rate for the taxing entity. A tax rate is certified when the proposed tax rate is passed by the voters.
Description
Enter a rate description. This field is optional.
Taxing entity GL accounts
Set up the default GL accounts for the taxing entity. Connect will use the default GL accounts to create transactions for accounts receivable, bad debt, interest revenue, penalty revenue, and tax revenue. The GL account must be a valid account. Partial GL accounts are not allowed.

Add exemptions that apply to the taxing entity. Example: Building record exemption, Land record exemption
