Post-Audit Year-End General Ledger Checklist

Complete these tasks in the order listed.

Once you have completed the yearly audit, complete the post-audit year-end tasks.  

Step 1: Enter audit adjustments

When the audit is complete, enter audit adjustments in the AUDIT journal in period 14/YY of the prior year. See the help topic titled How do I enter additional, non-checking adjusting entries?

Step 2: Run cash-only automatic allocations

Run cash-only automatic allocations for period 14/YY of the prior year. See the help topic titled How do I create allocations?

Step 3: Run Checkout

Run Checkout for period 14/YY of the prior year. Correct any errors and run Checkout again before continuing to the next step. See the help topic titled How do I close year-end?

Step 4: Print Financial Statements

Print a final copy of the financial statement for period 14/YY of the prior year. See the help topic titled Financial statement report.

Step 5: Print Detail Ledger

Print a final detail ledger for period 14/YY of the prior year. See the help topic titled Detail Ledger.

Step 6: Reprint opening trial balance

Reprint the opening trial balance for period 00/YY of the new year. See the help topic titled Trial Balance Report.

Step 7: Review Trial Balance Report

Review the Trial Balance report. Verify that the balances on the Trial Balance report match the balances on the Financial Statement printed in Step 4.
