How do I add/remove warrants?

A warrant is a court order that directs a law enforcement officer to arrest and bring a person before the judge. Use Setup Warrants to save a warrant for an existing case. When you print warrants using Batch/Letters Forms, you do not need to manually set up the warrant; the report will save the warrant for you.  

 

Add a warrant

Create a transaction to record a warrant.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Court Management > Cases > Setup Warrants.

2. Use the Lookup field to enter a case number. Press Enter.

3. Use the options on the Warrants tab > Setup New tab to fill in the warrant information.

4. Click the Save button.

The warrant is saved.

 

Enter a warrant disposition

A disposition is the final settlement, the outcome or final judgment, of a warrant. The warrant disposition tracks the warrant's progress from start to finish. An active warrant allows you to make changes to the warrant properties, while an inactive warrant prevents you from entering changes or modifying the warrant.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Court Management > Cases > Enter Warrant Dispositions.

2. Use the Lookup field to enter a case number. Press Enter.

3. Use the transaction grid on the Warrants tab > Dispositions subtab to select a warrant to dispose.

4. Fill in the fields on the Dispositions tab.

4. Click the Save button.

The warrant disposition is saved.

 

Change a warrant

Update the information on a saved warrant.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Court Management > Cases > Setup Warrants.

2. Use the Lookup field to enter a case number. Press Enter.

3. Select a warrant number from the transaction grid.

 

 

4. Click the menu button, it is located next to the reference number in the transaction grid.

5. Select Modify Warrant.

The warrant appears.

6. Update the warrant information.

The warrant is saved.

 

Delete a warrant

Remove a warrant from a case.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Court Management > Cases > Setup Warrants.

2. Use the Lookup field to enter a case number. Press Enter.

3. Select a warrant number from the transaction grid.

 

 

4. Click the menu button and select Delete Warrant.

The warrant is deleted.

 

Set up warrant defaults

Use Options (F12) to set up the program's default properties. These properties give you a way to change how information is displayed and choose the default settings. You can change the

  • Warrant case status

  • Additional fields

How do I change the default field value?

1. Click Options (F12).

2. Click the Warrants tab.

3. Enter the default values for each field.

Click [...] to view additional fields. This button is available when there are additional fields to view.

If some of the fields that you need are missing from the Setup New screen, you can add the missing fields to the Additional Fields area. You can also use the Additional Fields area to group together the fields that you use the most often.

How do I add additional fields to the Warrants tab?

1. Click Options (F12).

2. Click the Warrants tab.

3. Click Select next to Additional Fields. Use the Selection form to move the field title to the Selected Items list. Click OK.

Amount

Use Amount to enter the warrant amount.

Case warrant status

The warrant status records the state or condition assigned to the warrant. Use Options to assign the warrant status to display in the Case Warrant Status field when a new warrant is created.  

How do I change the default status?

1. Click Options (F12).

2. Click the Warrants tab.

3. Select a status from the Default Case Status Warrant drop-down list.

How do I add a new case status for warrants?

1. Open Connect Court Management > Organization > Statuses to add a new case status.

2.  Then, return to the Options form to select the case status as the default case status.

3. You may need to exit and relaunch the Options form to refresh the drop-down list.

Expiration date

An expiration date is the date after which the warrant is no longer valid.

Issue date

The Issue Date is the date the warrant is discharged.

Warrant number

The warrant number is a unique number assigned to a warrant. You can use it to look up and report warrant information.
