Verify the organization's contact information, Federal ID number, 1099 limits, and electronic 1099 file (if the organization will create an electronic 1099 file).
How do I verify the 1099 organization information?
1. Open Connect Accounts Payable > Government Reporting > Organization.
2. Verify the information on the General tab.
The information that displays on the General tab in Government Reporting > Organization comes from the Connect Payroll application.

Yes, the organization's name and contact information is correct. Continue to the next step.

No, the organization's name and contact information is NOT correct. If the information is not correct, use Connect Payroll > Organization to update the organization's name and contact information. The Government Reporting module uses the information that's stored in the Payroll application to fill in these fields. To learn how, see How do I change the organization's contact information? 3. Verify the information on the Federal tab > Federal tab.
Check the organization's Federal ID number and 1099 minimum amounts. Connect will print the organization's Federal ID number on the 1099s and it will use the 1099 minimum amounts to determine if a 1099 is created for a 1099 vendor.

No, the organization's Federal ID number is NOT correct. Click to select the value in the Federal ID Number box and replace it with the correct Federal ID number.

Yes, the 1099 minimum amounts are correct. Continue Step 4. Verify the Information on the Federal Tab > Electronic Filing Tab.

No, the 1099 minimum amounts are NOT correct. Click to select a value to replace it with a different amount.
4. Verify the information on the States tab.
If the state requires the organization to file 1099s electronically, verify the information that's saved on the States tab > State tab. Connect will use this information to create the electronic 1099 file for the state.

5. Click Save (CTRL+S).
You have verified the 1099 organization information, continue to Step 8a. Fill out Electronic Filing tab (10 or more records).
