What's the difference between a service order and a maintenance order?

FAQs

A service order is created in the Utility Management app. It requests service for all things utilities: installing meters, removing meters, etc. and other utility services that are maintained in Utility Management. A service order is tied to a utility customer.

A maintenance order is created in the Maintenance Orders app. Use a maintenance order for all requests that are not related to a utility customer. For example, a request to empty the garbage cans in the park.

A work order is a request that you create in Connect Online. When you set up the work order, the work order properties will determine the work order type. If the work order is linked to a utility customer, it's recorded as a service order and you can look up the work order in Connect Online or using the Utility Management app.. If the work order is not linked to a utility customer, it's a maintenance order and you'll find the work order in Connect Online or using the Maintenance Orders app.
