How do I replace an existing meter?

Install a new meter in place of an old meter. If you are installing a new meter to replace an existing meter, you'll need to change the existing meter's status to inventory before you can set up a new meter.

Before you get started

Replacing an existing meter

1. Open Connect Utility Management > Meters > Enter Meter Activity.

2. Enter a Customer.

The customer's name and service address display in the screen.

3. Select the action code to add a new meter.

The action codes for your organization may have different names from the action codes that are displayed in the drop-down list here. Use the action code that your organization uses to install a new meter.

Press Enter.

4. Fill in the fields on the expanded form.

5. Click Save (CTRL+S).

The new meter is installed at the service address for the selected customer.
