How do I copy service location to mailing address? (Customers)

Customer Options

Change the default option on the Setup New Customers view to copy the service address to the mailing address field or copy the mailing address to the service address field. Choosing the first option will copy the service address from the previous customer to the mailing address field on the new customer. Choosing the second option will copy the mailing address from the previous customer to the service address field on the new customer.

What if I was already copying the mailing address from the previous customer in version 2019.11 or earlier? When you install 2020.02, the option will be set to copy the mailing address from the previous customer. If you prefer to copy the service address, you will need to update setting in Setup New Customer options.

Copy the service address from the previous customer to the mailing address field on the new customer.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Utility Management > Customers > Setup New Customers.

2. Click Options (F12).

3. Use the Setup New Customer Options window to select the Copy [Service Address/Mailing Address] from Previous Customer checkbox.

4. Select Service Address as the Copy [Service Address/Mailing Address] from Previous Customer.

5. Click OK.

When you set up a new customer, Connect will copy the service address from the previous customer to the mailing address field on the new customer.

Choosing not to copy the mailing address or service address

Do not copy the mailing address or service address to the service address field when you set up a new customer.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Utility Management > Customers > Setup New Customers.

2. Click Options (F12).

3. Remove the checkmark from the Copy [Service Address/Mailing Address] from Previous Customer checkbox.

4. Click OK.

When you set up a new customer, Connect will not copy the mailing address or service address from the previous customer to the service address field on the new customer.
