How do I set up real-time notifications? (Connect Online)
Connect Online - Service Orders
Send notifications for changes to service orders submitted online. Email to text message an alert message in real time to the service representative in the field and the office staff. You can use the Work Order page in Connect Online to view recent changes, you can run a report to view service order status, and you can set up real-time notifications.
What's a work order?
Connect Online uses "work order" instead of "maintenance order" for items that are created in the Connect Maintenance Orders app.

Setting up real-time notifications
It's important to set up both the notification contact list AND save the user's email and mobile phone number.
Do this...
1. Set up your notification contact list. See the help topic titled How Do I Set Up My Notification Contact List?
This is a list of contacts who will receive notifications. Users who are not included on the notification contact list will not receive notifications even if the user's email and mobile phone number are saved.
2. Add the user's email and mobile phone number to the user security record. See the help topic titled How Do I Update a User's Email or Mobile Phone Number?
The user record in Setup/Modify User Rights stores the email address and mobile phone number that Connect will use to send notifications to the user. If the user is included on the notification contact list, but an email or mobile phone number is not saved, the user will not receive notifications. It's important to set up both the notification contact list AND save the user's email and mobile phone number.
