How do I assign a work order to a user? (Connect Online)

Connect Online - Managers

Request a user work on a work order. Use Work Orders to assign a work order to a user. Assigning a work order to a user will move the work order to the user's work order queue and the user will be able to view it and work on it.

  • 2019.08 or later allows users to create work orders in the field without assigning the work order to the user who created it when the user is not assigned to the department that's responsible for completing the work order. Watch a video (01m17s).

Assigning a work order to a user

1. Open My Dashboard.

2. Click Settings .

The Work Orders page displays.

3.  Click to select the work order number.

4. Click the Assign To button to view a list of users.

What if a user is missing from the Assign To list? If a user isn't listed, it means the user is not set up as a user in the application. If you're assigning a work order created in Maintenance Orders, add the user to Connect Maintenance Orders > Organization > Personnel. On the other hand, if the work order comes from Utility Management, add the user to Connect Utility Management > Organization > Service Order Personnel.

5. Select a user name to assign to the work order.

The work order is assigned to the user. The work order will be included in the user's work order queue so the user can see it and work on it.
