What if an employee requests more leave time than they have accrued? (Connect Online)

Issue

When an employee submits a leave time request, Timekeeping will verify the leave hours the employee is requesting is equal to or less than the employee's accrued leave balance. If the employee's accrued leave balance is less than the requested leave hours, a warning message will be displayed. The employee can change the requested leave hours or cancel the request, but the employee cannot submit a leave request for more leave hours than they have accrued.

 

Solution

To fix this issue, 

  • If you're an employee, use Connect Online to look up your leave balance. To view your leave balance, click on your name (in the upper-right corner). The pane on the right will show you the hours of leave time that you have accrued as the Leave Time balance. This is what you have available to use for leave requests. 

  • If you're a manager, you can use Connect Online to look up the leave balance for the employee. On My Dashboard, click the Review Timesheets link on the Review Timesheets widget. Find the employee's name and click on it to show the employee's Leave Time balance.
