Error: Deduction pay code with positive year-to-date balance

Issue

An employee has a deduction pay code that has a positive year-to-date balance for a position.

Explanation

A deduction type employee pay code has a positive year-to-date balance. Deduction type pay codes subtract an amount from an employee's pay check. The year-to-date balance on a deduction type pay could should be a negative amount.

Solution

To fix this issue, review the employee pay code settings for the deduction type employee pay code. (Modify Existing Employees > Pay Codes tab)

Check if the amount/rate/percent is a value followed by a minus sign.
Check if the pay code has a begin date or end date that shouldn't be there. Make a note on the Notes tab that includes the begin/end date that will be deleted. and why you are removing it. And then, delete the begin/end date from the pay code.
