How do I create requisitions?

Create requisitions in the Accounts Payable application and create an order in the Materials Management application.

 

Creating requisitions

1. Open Connect Materials Management > Inventory > Create Requisitions. It's part of the Miscellaneous menu.

2. Enter the Input Date.

The input date is the date the system will use for recording the transaction.

What is the input date?

  • Enter a MM/DD/YYYY in the Input Date field.

3. Enter the Requisition Date.

The requisition date is the date that will be recorded on the printed requisition.

What is the requisition date?

  • Enter a MM/DD/YYYY in the Requisition Date field.

4. Enter the Requested By.

The Requested By refers to the individual who is asking for the requisition.

Who is requesting the requisition?

  • Select a user ID from the Requested By drop-down list.

5. Select the inventory items to order.

For the selected item, enter the vendor name, date required by, and quantity to order. Then, select the Order checkbox. When the Quantity Available for an inventory item is less than the Reorder Point, the system will include the inventory item in the grid.

Which inventory items do you want to order?

  • Click the Order checkbox to order the inventory item.

6. When you're finished, click GO (CTRL+G).  

The requisitions are created.

You can print a requisitions directly from the Create Requisitions form.

Do you want to print requisitions?

  • Yes, I want to print requisitions. Click Options (F12). Select the Print Requisitions checkbox, and then select a requisition report title. This is the report the routine will use to print requisitions.  

  • No, I do not want to print requisitions. Click Options (F12), and then deselect the Print Requisitions checkbox,

Create requisitions based on the reorder point

Use this option to add inventory items with quantities that fall below the reorder point to the Create Requisitions form.

Do you want to change the selection criteria to include inventory items within a percentage of the reorder point?

For example, if the Reorder Point is 10 but Jane only reorders inventory once a month, she can set up the default properties to show the inventory item when the quantity available falls within a certain range.

  • Yes, I want to include inventory items that are close to the recorder point. Click Options (F12) and select the Include Inventory within [ _ ]% of the Reorder Point checkbox. Then, enter a number in the [ _ ]% field. The system will calculate ([Reorder Point] x [percentage] + [Reorder Point])

  • No, I only want to include inventory items that are equal to or less than the reorder point. Click Options (F12) and deselect the Include Inventory within [ _ ]% of the Reorder Point checkbox.
