Warning: No Periods to Close

I'm trying to run the Close Periods routine, but I get this message. What does it mean?

Solution

The last period closed is the period before the current period. Clicking OK will dismiss the message and launch the Close Periods view. The close period box will show the same period as the last closed period.

To fix it, change the current period to a new period (Organization > Change Current Period).
This warning message will also display when the last period closed is set to allow a user to edit a closed period. In this scenario, change the last period closed to show the last period that was actually closed instead of the last period that was closed to allow a user to make changes to a closed period.
