Create Reversing Entry Options

Journals

This is the options window that displays on the screen when you launch the Create Reversing Entries view. Use the options window to select the journal and period to look up transactions and the journal and period where the reversing entry will be created. You can change the options at any time by clicking the Options button on the main toolbar.

Journal

Enter the journal for the original entry.

Period

Enter the period for the original entry.

Reversing entries journal

Enter the period where the reversing entry will be created. For example, RE for the reversing entry journal.

Reversing entries period

Enter the period where the reversing entry will be created.

Use specific date

The system will use the current date as the default date for recording the reversing entry. If you want to use a different date, click to select the Use Specific Date checkbox and then enter the MM/DD/YYYY.

Use [Same description as entry]

Use the original entry description as the description on the reversing entry. To use a different description, select Specified Description from the menu and then enter a new description for reversing entries. For example, Reversal of MM/YY AM: MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS

Displaying the Options window

When you're working in the Create Reversing Entries view, you can revisit the options that you have selected by clicking the Options button on the main toolbar.
