Web services

What web services are used for

APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that use specific functionality, like posting a transaction, retrieving a customer record, or exporting a general ledger update.
Operate over HTTP/HTTPS, making them accessible by the web.

Web services matter in accounting software:

Automation. Automatically sync data between systems, such as Connect applications and a payment provider or portal.
Integration. Connect the Connect system to a payment provider or portal.
Real-time updates. Push and pull data instantly, like checking the status of a vendor payment or reporting.
