Forms

Set up an inspection form. This is the form that the Inspections report will use to print the inspection list. To learn how to use forms, click this link.

Adding a form

1. Open Connect Community Development > Organization > Forms.

The Form Type dialog appears.

2. Select a form type.

The form type defines the function of the form. It also defines which reports will include the form in the Forms list.

3. Click Accept.

4. Click Create a New Form.

5. Click Open.

6. Now, use the form tools to format the form layout.

7. Click Save (CTRL+S).

The Save Form dialog appears.

8. Enter the form name in the Save As New Form field.

9. Click Save.

The form is saved.

 

Importing a form

Use this routine to import report forms and definitions to the current Caselle Connect application. A report definition is the settings and selections for printing a report, for example, the Master Receipt Register Report is a report definition. A report form is a layout that is created using the Forms Designer. The layout for printing a check, utility bill, or letter are examples of forms.

Do this...

1. Open Connect System Management > System Tools > Import Report Forms/Definitions.

2. Enter the File Name.

The filename identifies a file stored on a computer or network. If the file is stored in the default Caselle directory, enter the filename followed by the file extension (image.gif). If the file is stored in a different directory, include the drive name (d:\ap_vendors\image.gif).   

Where is the import file located?

  • Click on the File Name field, and then type in the path and filename of the import file. Example: a:\ The system displays all of the report forms/definitions located in the import file in the fields for Report Definitions and Report Forms.

3. Select the Report Forms/Definitions.

A form is a document that has been set up to print information, such as text, titles, or variables. This help topic includes a link to a PDF that lists the variables that you can use to create forms for this application.

Which report forms/definitions do you want to import?

  • I want to import all report forms/definitions. Click the Select All button.

  • I want to choose which report forms/definitions to import. Click on a report form/definition to select it. Only the report form/definitions that will be imported should be highlighted.   

4. Click GO (CTRL+G).

The report form/definition has been imported.
