How do I add an inspection type?

Add an inspection type to the Inspection Types table.

Set up the inspection types that you will assign to permits, inspections, code violations, and so on. An inspection type defines the characteristics and function on an inspection. An inspection is a formal review to examine a commercial structure, residential dwelling, or municipal project to see if building codes and safety requirements have been satisfied.

Adding an inspection type

1. Open Connect Community Development > Organization > Inspection Types.

2. Click New (CTRL+N).

3. Enter the Inspection Type.

Use a title that will be easy for other users to understand and remember.

4. Enter the Description.

A description is a word or phrase that describes the character or features of the record.

5. Assign transaction types.

When you assign a transaction type to an inspection type, the inspection type will only show up in the Inspection Type drop-down list when the transaction type is selected.

 

What do you want to do?

  • Assign the transaction type to the inspection type. Click to select the checkbox next to a transaction type.

  • Remove a transaction type from the inspection type. Click to deselect the checkbox next to a transaction.

6. Add inspection items.

Assign the inspection type to an inspection item. When you select the inspection type, the inspection items that are assigned to the inspection type will be displayed in the Inspection Item list.

 

7. Set up a schedule.

Assign the days on the work schedule to the inspection type.

 

8. Click Save (CTRL+S).

The inspection type is saved.
