You can set up the configuration file to run an earlier version of Caselle applications from the Connect Main Menu. When a you click on an icon to launch an application, Connect will use the information stored in the configuration file to pick the Caselle version and database. You do not need to launch a different version of Caselle in order to access a different version or database. You can do it all from the Connect Main Menu.
Caselle 2.x (Classic) uses the MS Access database type and requires the database and application paths are set up.
Caselle 3.x ( MSDE) uses the MSSQL database type. This version also requires the database and application paths are set up with special considerations, see the following items.
Important! The Database Path and Application Path fields are used by Caselle 3.x applications. The other fields on the Application subtab are used by Caselle Connect to access data from the Caselle 3.x application.
Set the Database Path to the folder that contains the security database ( AAS.MDB), typically, this is CSLDATA.
Set the Application Path to
the full path and . exe file. Use command
lines to specify the sever (/server=) and database (/ db=) names. Note: Leave this field blank if the
application type is Caselle Connect. Example: g:\cslwin\cd0.exe
/ server=(local) / db=Demo
Example of setup for Court, version 3.x
Caselle 4.x (Clarity) uses the MSSQL database type.
Caselle 5.x (Connect) uses the MSSQL database type.
