Can I increment numbers in Connect?

Auto-increment Numbers

Connect assigns a different number to identify records, accounts, and transactions. Even though you can enter a unique number, you don't have to. Connect can increment the next number for you. You can use the Auto-increment tool to use the increment value that you choose to identify the next available number.

 

Setting up auto-incrementing numbers

1. Click Options (F12).

2. Click to select the checkbox titled Auto-increment.

3. Enter the Beginning Range.

This is the first number Connect will use.

4. Enter the Ending Range.

This is the last number Connect can assign.

5. Enter the Increment By.

This is the number Connect will add to the number that was assigned to the last record.

6. Click OK.

Connect will auto-increment numbers.

 

Disabling auto-incrementing numbers

1. Click Options (F12).

2. Click to deselect the checkbox titled Auto-increment.\

3. Click OK.

Connect will not auto-increment numbers.
